Das Tapes, John Anderson, Far East Movement
Co-hosts Tamara Conniff and Jonathan McHugh welcome The Weekly Comet’s first Dance Party, complete with a live studio audience boogying to electro-pop duo Das Tapes.
In the news: Goyte’s “Somebody That I Used To Know” holds at No 1 on the Ultimate Chart, No Doubt is back this fall with their first new album in over a decade, Silversun Pickups have released their new album “Neck of the Woods,” and the hosts talk about the passing of iconic Adam “MCA” Yauch of the Beastie Boys. Jonathan then gives everyone a taste of his New Orleans Jazz Fest experience, his 32nd year attending!
Hunnypot Unlimited ringmaster John Anderson brought his own party to The Weekly Comet, complete with himself, a posse, a bar, a band, and the video to LMFAO’s remix of Far East Movement’s “Live My Life” featuring Justin Bieber! He divulges how Hunnypot started out as a music supervisor/A&R party and turned into an indie music publishing power house with such acts as Far East Movement and Das Tapes.
Then The Weekly Comet mainstay KCRW DJ Jason Kramer is back with his Pick of the Week: Keaton Henson. During this segment Tamara has a laughing fit and starts to cry. You have to watch to find out why.
Das Tapes, featuring Kevin and Mark Ignatius, talk about brotherly love and making their way from Pennsylvania to Los Angeles. You can download their EP for free at www.dastapes.com. Watch out for their full length album this year!
The show closes with a DANCE PARTY! And a Happy Birthday to Tamara. She’s finally legal.
