Extinction: Three Plants or Animals an Hour

Every hour that passes, three animals or plants are being permanently eradicated from the planet. This week CNN announced that the last remaining Javan rhinoceros has been killed. We don’t know if the animals horns are a cure for cancer is mythology or the reason they were hunted into extinction. But imagine if the legend was true – too bad, because there are none of them left.
