The origins of Yoga
Yoga has stood the test of time through millennia and most estimates put yoga origins in the 3300 bce range. Yoga is a Sanskrit word and used in its highest form, it means to unite oneself with ones own being. It is this very quality about yoga that draws millions of people. The desire to be connected to oneself in today’s busy world is greater than ever, yet more challenging.
The exact origin of yoga is a disputed topic, but there were several seals discovered in the Indus Valley Civilization area dating back to 3300bce depicting images of people in what could be yoga poses. Some say that yoga was used in ancient rituals dedicated to the gods.
